Matt Prokop of Furry Vengeance: The Hot New Big Screen Teen!
By Anne Raso
January 11th, 2010

We recently caught up by phone with sexy Matt Prokop of High School Musical 3 fame— and who plays the son of Brendan Fraser's character in the new Summit Entertainment release, Furry Vengeance. The comedy will have an April 2 release and no doubt all the young female movie-goers will be lining up for this cutie with the sexy pout, funky neo-mod haircut and great personality. Matt has been quoted as saying the oddly titled film is about "a sarcastic city kid transplanted to the country after his father moves them there to build a housing subdivision” and “the two do battle with local wildlife fed up with intrusions into their Oregon wilderness.” Sound interesting! We here at OTTB can't wait to check it out!

OTTB.COM: I am going to ask you about working with Brendan Fraser first--he is one of my all-time favorite actors....what is it like playing his son and what is he like as a person.
Matt: It is such an honor! I grew up one of the biggest Brendan Fraser fans and was really nervous about meeting him and playing his son—but from Day One he has been great to work with. He is actually like a father to me. He has been like, "What are you doing tonight? Let's go get sushi! We're going!" He has just been the nicest, most down-to-earth guy I have ever worked with and like I said before, it has been such an honor!

OTTB: Very cool! I would figure he would be fun and goofy! I just figured that because I always loved the movie Encino Man and figured he must be like that caveman character just a little bit! (Laughs.) Now, I know Furry Vengeance has been filming around Boston--what are the other locations?
Matt: No, the whole movie has been shot in Massachusetts.

OTTB: are you getting to anything in your down time or are you on the set for like 16 hours a day?
Matt: No, it is honestly one of the most professional sets. We get in and we get out of there and there has not been any overtime. We took the whole cast and went to a Paul McCartney concert in Fenway Park.

OTTB: Oh, that is so cool! Did you get to meet Paul McCartney and go backstage?
Matt: No, we didn't. We wrapped 30 minutes before the concert, made it just as he came on and we all had an early morning (call) the next day so we just went back (to our hotels) afterwards. He did like a four-hour set! It was unbelievable!

OTTB: So tell me about your other projects coming up.
Matt: Right now I am just going out to some meetings--there are a couple of projects I am really interested in but cannot say anything about because they are not official yet. But I am definitely hitting meetings in a week when I am done with this movie.
